The kitchen sink

Blockworms

Created at the beginning of Chainspace. Blockworms are an essential element in the Chainspace ecosystem. They create blocks and encode the transaction data in them. They require blockbits to breath and godblood for sustenance.

Chainspace

The interconnected multiverse of blockchains. Our adventure begins on the Ethereum chain, but it can lead anywhere.

Degenerators

A loose coalition of criminals, bounty hunters, Outer Block tough guys and other Chainspace scum.

Gas

Also known as “godblood”. Paid to the blockworms that create the blocks and encode transaction data into them. Originally made during the destruction of the PILLGOD’s corporeal body.

Genesis

The event that created Chainspace, begun by the PILLGOD when it dissolved its body, using it as a “catalyst” to spark Chainspace’s creation. We don’t know much more than that.

Genesis Cube

Its destruction seeded the creation and evolution of Chainspace. Located in the center of Chainspace, which grew around it. Now a pile of ruins.

Godblood

Also known as “gas”. Paid to the blockworms that create the blocks and encode transaction data into them. Originally made during the destruction of the PILLGOD’s corporeal body.

Pillgod

The name we give to the god who created The Blockchain and taught us the pilling arts. But this is just one name. It has many.

Genesis Pills

Special pills - self-contained universes - created from the destruction of the Genesis Cube. Necesssary to start the REGENESIS.

Hashmonks of Mem

A monastic order dedicated to guiding unconfirmed transactions down the Mempool’s perilous rivers, to be approved and confirmed.

Memfruit

A semi-sentient fruit, native to the Mempool.

Memwraith

The fate of all transactions that stay within the Mempool for too long. The Memwraiths are the spirits of those pending transactions never to be picked and processed.

Mempool Pirates

Independent antagonists, looking to hijack, co-opt, or steal transactions as they are guided through the Mempool. At odds with the Hashmonks.

Outer Blocks

The frontier of the Ethereum blockchain where new blocks are mined. Constantly expanding. Largely uncivilized.

Regenesis

Our end goal - the transformation event that will remake Chainspace. Known casually as the shift from “Proof of Work” to “Proof of Stake”.

Trancepool

Special, self-contained rockpools used by the Hashmonks to rejevunate themselves and maintain their connection to the sentient waters of the Mempool. Trancepools can also transmit visions or intuitive insights, and are a central element in Hashmonk rituals.
